Early Years
At Goose Green, we are passionate about Early Years education. As a former Early Years teacher, I—alongside our dedicated and experienced teaching team—bring a deep understanding, and love for early childhood learning.
Our Nursery and Reception classes give children a strong and joyful foundation for their future education. This important stage of development is where curiosity blossoms. We provide rich opportunities for children to explore, investigate, and make sense of the world around them, nurturing their natural inquisitiveness and setting them up as confident, successful learners.
At Goose Green, these vital early skills are developed through highâquality, playâbased learning, both indoors and outside. We are fortunate to have generous, inspiring spaces where children can move freely, follow their interests, and learn through meaningful play.
We welcome children into Nursery from the September after their third birthday until they begin Reception. Our provision offers a warm, caring, and playârich environment centred on exploration, outdoor learning, and holistic growth. We provide a unique setting where outdoor learning plays a central role—something widely recognised as highly beneficial for developing the prime areas of learning, something at the very heart of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Admissions are processed by the school office and we are happy to talk through your session requirements and our availability with you.
If you would like a place at our Nursery, please download and complete the application form and email this to our admissions officer, Michelle, at admissions@ggp.nestschools.org. Michelle can also arrange a visit where you can come and see the Nursery in action and meet the team.
Attending our Nursery does not automatically entitle you to a place in our Reception class. All parents need to make an application to Southwark for their Reception school place. Our staff are happy to help with your application when the time comes.
You can find more information on the application process for Nursery and Reception, as well as In-Year applications, here.
